Our rentals in Empuriabrava

Empuriabrava is a very popular tourist destination and is only 4 km from the town of Castello d'Empuries. It is a tourist complex with many holiday rentals, the residential area being built along a navigable canal and close to some of the most beautiful golden sandy beaches of the Costa Brava.

Empuriabrava is one of the most important tourist destinations in northern Catalonia, with one of the largest marinas in the world. Girona airport is approximately 40 minutes away by car.

Activities and leisure
There are many tourist and leisure activities in and around Empuriabrava, including skydiving, a water park, scuba diving in one of the many fish reserves, glass-bottom boat trips, fishing excursions, go-kart tours, a butterfly park or bird sanctuary and, of course, golf. There are protected areas on both sides of the resort, as well as routes for walking, jogging or cycling.

Empuriabrava has the largest network of waterways in Europe and many houses even have their own mooring in the garden overlooking the Mediterranean through a series of canals. It is possible to hire a boat in the marina and explore the canals for an hour or two.

Beaches
There are two long sandy beaches that are never too busy and offer the opportunity to enjoy water sports, as well as beach bars, showers and other facilities.

Market
Empuriabrava's market takes place on Saturday mornings. On Sundays you can go to the markets in L'Escala and Rosas.

Cuisine
Catalonia's gastronomy is rich and varied. It is mainly based on a Mediterranean diet of fish and seafood, with fresh vegetables, olives, and rice and pasta dishes.

We recommend trying some of the traditional Catalan dishes on your holiday in Sant Antoni de Calonge, such as Escudella I Carn D'olla, which is a vegetable broth with pork, veal and chicken, or Pa Amb Tomàquet, toasted bread with tomato pulp, olive oil and salt. This delicious lunch can also be served with ham, sausages or tortilla, the famous Spanish omelette.

Coca catalana is a very thin pastry baked with onions, peppers and other vegetables, usually served with meat or fish (especially sardines).

Castelló d'Empúries
Nearby is Castelló d'Empúries, which retains its medieval charm and shows the important historical influence of the area. The county of Empúries encompasses the entire valley, including seven monasteries and important enclaves such as St. Martí d'Empúries.

Climate
The region is pleasantly warm and sunny throughout spring, summer and autumn, with mild winters and some rain.
